Dunbar Education is currently recruiting for a passionate and resilient Class Teaching Assistant/Intervention Support on behalf of one of our SEMH Secondary Clients. This temporary position offers an immediate start date and provides an opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people with social, emotional, and/or mental health needs.

About the Role: Our Teaching Assistants play a vital role in supporting our teachers to ensure that all students can manage their social, emotional, and/or mental health needs effectively in the classroom, thus enabling them to succeed in their learning journey. Working in partnership with our Behaviour Support Team, you will be responsible for helping students de-escalate during moments of crisis and support them in resolving any incidents that may occur. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to provide intervention sessions for small groups of students or on a 1:1 basis. We are seeking a candidate who is creative, resilient, and dedicated to ensuring that every child makes progress academically and in their personal development.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide support to teachers in managing student behaviour and promoting positive learning environments.
Work collaboratively with the Behaviour Support Team to support students in crisis and assist in conflict resolution.
Deliver intervention sessions to small groups or individuals to address social, emotional, and/or mental health difficulties.
Foster loving and supportive relationships with students, ensuring their well-being and academic progress.
Maintain effective communication with students, families, and professionals to ensure holistic support for students.Requirements:

Level 2 Maths and English qualifications.
Commitment to all professional development opportunities offered.
Experience working with students with learning, challenging, emotional, or behavioural difficulties.
Experience delivering interventions to support young people with SEMH difficulties (desirable).
Strong organisational and prioritisation skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well with others.
Ability to establish trusting relationships with students, families, and professionals.
Effective communication skills, both orally and in writing.
Confidence and calmness in managing difficult situations.
Warm and loving personality with a trauma-informed approach.
Creative and dynamic problem-solving skills.
