Design Manager

We're supporting a high-performing engineering firm in the oil and gas sector as they look to appoint an experienced Design Manager. This is a key leadership role, responsible for overseeing the delivery of innovative, compliant, and cost-effective designs — from concept through to final delivery.

You'll lead a team of skilled design engineers and CAD technicians working on a project of process and non process buildings for a ongoing oil & gas project.

Responsibilities

* Manage and lead the design team to deliver high-quality engineering solutions

* Oversee the production of 3D models, drawings, and design documentation

* Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry codes (e.g., ASME, API, PED) and internal standards

* Work closely with EPC Contractor to ensure smooth delivery

* Review and approve detailed designs, calculations, and specifications

* Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineers

* Drive continuous improvement in design, systems, and standards

Requirements

* Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline

* Proven experience in a senior design or design management role within oil and gas.

* Strong understanding of engineering principles and EPC projects

* Proficiency in 3D CAD software

* Excellent knowledge of relevant codes and standards (e.g., API, ASME VIII, PED)

* Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
