AR794 - Plant FitterLocation: KetteringSalary: £32,000 - £39,000 + Overtime + VanOverview:First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Plant Fitter on behalf of one of our clients.The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out routine maintenance and repairs to long/short term machines and customers owned equipment. Ensuring best practice with quality and professionalism are met at all times and to maintain customer satisfaction.Our client strongly encourages applications from ex-military personnel however, all candidates will be considered.Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support the Workshop manager in identifying plant issues.
- Work proactively as part of a busy workshop team both in the workshop and on our construction sites.
- Ensuring that safe practices are demonstrated on site whilst conducting your work.
- Where necessary brief the operators on the issues which are causing damage or wear to plant and equipment.
- Promote safe practices in operation and repair of equipment within the business.
- Demonstrate a personal commitment to rigorously enforcing appropriate standards of Health and Safety for yourself and others at all times.
- Ensure all processes are followed and compiled with.
- Provide effective solutions for plant problems.
- Participate in the development of plant maintenance processes which suit our business requirements.
- Converse efficiently with plant operators and site management teams in a professional manner to ensure the efficient process of maintaining fleet.
- Carry out in-house training when required
- Carry out local risk assessment & method statements.
- Communicate with managers to organise the repair of machinery to minimise downtime and disruption to site operations.
- Investigate repairs and provide an effective solution.
- Any other duties as requested by the Plant Workshop Manager.
- Own and demonstrate proper use of tools, diagnostic equipment in accordance with PUWER regulations.
- In-house fabrications and repair for bespoke items and upkeep of construction plant and equipment.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Excellent knowledge of plant & machinery.
- Ability to use cutting equipment & welding.
- Be able to work on your own initiative.
- Must have good communication skills.
- Level 3 or equivalent in Plant/Vehicle Maintenance.
- Use of in-house software.
