Our client, a pivotal entity in the highways sector, is currently seeking a Chartered Senior Engineer for a contract position.

Key Responsibilities:

Providing independent oversight as the CG300 works examiner on Gallows Corner
Conducting site visits 3-4 times a week at the start of employment to inspect and sign off on 6 live sites
Ensuring adherence to construction and highway standards
Collaborating with project teams and stakeholders to deliver high-quality outcomes
Preparing detailed reports and technical documentation
Managing and mentoring junior engineers on site
Ensuring all engineering solutions are robust, cost-effective, and compliant with regulatory standards
Maintaining an independent approach to project assessments and validations

Job Requirements:

Chartered Engineer (CEng) status with ICE or IstructE
Strong experience in highways, construction, and bridge engineering
Proficiency in conducting site inspections and signing off on critical project milestones
Ability to work independently and make informed decisions under minimal supervision
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities
Experience in preparing comprehensive technical reports
Ability to mentor and guide junior team members
