Company: SENDIRECT

Job Type: Contract, Full Time

The Role

We are working with a brand-new specialist provision in Essex to recruit passionate and dedicated Class Teachers for an immediate start. This exciting opportunity is offered on a temp to perm basis, ideal for candidates looking to secure a long-term role while ensuring the right fit for both themselves and the school. The setting caters to pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and is purpose-built to provide a nurturing and inclusive environment. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality, individualised teaching and supporting young people with complex behavioural and emotional challenges. A positive, flexible, and trauma-informed approach is essential.

About the Setting

This purpose-built SEMH school in Essex offers placements for up to 65 pupils, including residential provision. It focuses on developing academic, social, emotional, and vocational skills through a tailored curriculum that blends formal learning with enriching, therapeutic experiences. The school is part of a wider trust known for its commitment to inclusive education, holistic pupil development, and strong professional support for staff. You'll be part of a collaborative and nurturing environment that puts pupils' well-being and future opportunities at the heart of its mission.

The Candidate

We are seeking qualified teachers (QTS) with a passion for working with children and young people who have SEMH needs. Experience in specialist or alternative settings is highly desirable, though not essential for applicants with strong behaviour management skills and a commitment to inclusive practice. You must be confident delivering differentiated lessons, managing a range of needs within the classroom, and working closely with a multi-disciplinary team to support each pupil's progress. This role is temp to perm, with the potential for a permanent contract for the right candidate after a successful trial period.
