Freight Forwarder – Operations – Broughton Astley

People Solutions are currently recruiting for a Freight Forwarder – Operations to join our well-established client based in Broughton Astley. This is a fantastic opportunity offering a competitive salary, long-term stability, and the chance to develop within a fast-paced logistics environment.

This is a hands-on operational role responsible for managing shipments from booking through to final delivery. You will work closely with customers, carriers, and suppliers to ensure goods move efficiently, compliantly, and on time across road, air, sea, and courier services.

Shifts

• Monday – Friday
• 08:30 – 17:00

Rates of Pay

• £28,000 – £31,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

Day-to-Day Duties

As a Freight Forwarder – Operations, your duties will include (but are not limited to):

• Processing customer bookings and preparing quotations
• Arranging transport services across multiple modes (road, air, sea, courier)
• Scheduling collections and deliveries
• Preparing shipping and export documentation
• Completing and submitting Customs Declarations
• Tracking shipments and providing proactive updates to customers
• Liaising daily with customers, carriers, and suppliers
• Resolving operational issues and escalating where required
• Maintaining accurate records and supporting operational administration
• Ensuring compliance with industry regulations and company procedures

Essential Skills

As a Freight Forwarder – Operations, you will need:

• Previous freight forwarding or logistics operations experience (desirable)
• Strong attention to detail and high levels of data accuracy
• Excellent organisation and time management skills
• Confident communication skills and ability to work within a team
• Ability to prioritise tasks and adapt within a busy environment
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn processes

Due to HMRC approved premises and industry accreditations, successful candidates must pass a five-year background history check and DBS check.
