We are a successful school with a large Sixth Form located near Willenhall, with easy access to the M6 motorway network.We are seeking to appoint an outstanding Teacher of Music keen to work with our curriculum team to achieve excellent outcomes for all our students. As the successful candidate, you will be joining an experienced group of qualified practitioners who very much work as a team with a friendly, sharing culture.

We are looking for a candidate who has studied to A Level Music, is enthusiastic and has a passion for the subject whilst being a competent musician themselves with basic piano skills (to teach to Key Stage 3). This vacancy is a unique opportunity; for a newly qualified teacher this would provide an excellent start to your teaching career, whilst for more experienced colleagues there are varied further development opportunities and rewards available.

Within the Performing Arts department, Music is studied along with Drama at KS3 and then offered at GCSE and A Level, following the Eduqas exam board. We have large cohorts of students opting to study music with a track record of success on the previous BTEC Tech Award and now the current GCSE Music qualification.

Music is an important part of school life and integral to our whole school events reflective of the Catholic Life and Mission of our school, inclusive of the celebration of Masses, other liturgical celebrations, prayer services and reflections, parish events, Christmas and Easter services. We offer instrumental lessons on a wide variety of instruments and offer extra-curricular opportunities through ensembles such as our choir and the opportunity to take part in our annual whole school productions. The ideal candidate will share our vision to raise standards and make a significant contribution to providing the best possible education for the children in our school.

This exciting development, supportive of colleagues' wellbeing, will see those who opt in have one day per fortnight (at school discretion and based on curriculum need) to use at their discretion at home for non-school related purposes.
