I'm recruiting for a hands-on Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join a specialist engineering business supporting the UK's Continuous At Sea Deterrent programme.

This is a technically senior role with real ownership — not just oversight.

The Role

Hands-on electrical system design

*

Produce E-Plan / SolidWorks Electrical schematics & wiring drawings

*

Generate BOMs & full technical documentation

*

Power & control system design (VSDs, motor starters, distribution, PLCs)

*

FMEA, safety assessments & reliability analysis

*

Ensure full technical & legislative compliance

*

Work closely with mechanical engineers for integrated solutions

*

Support testing & automation (NI Hardware / LabVIEW desirable)

You'll be accountable for delivering a compliant, manufacturable solution — from concept through to assembly.

What You'll Need

*

Degree qualified (Electrical Engineering or similar)

*

5+ years within MOD / Marine / Defence / Aerospace

*

Strong power & electrical design capability

*

Control & Instrumentation experience

*

PLC systems (ProfiBus / ProfiNet / TIA Portal)

*

Safety & compliance documentation experience

*

E-Plan & SolidWorks Electrical (advantageous)

Must be a British National due to project requirements.

Working Hours

Mon-Thurs: 07:30-16:00

*

Fri: 07:30-12:30

*

Flexible start 06:30-08:30 / finish 15:00-17:00

*

Primarily site-based (engineering team onsite)
