Private Family Chef, Rome, Italy – Top salary on offer

An exceptional opportunity has arisen for a truly accomplished Private Chef to join one of the loveliest UHNW families in Europe, based at their stunning residence in Rome.

This is a long-term, relationship-driven role. The family’s current chef has been with them for 14 years and is retiring this summer, so they are taking their time to find the right person, someone grounded, warm, and genuinely passionate about food, family, and hospitality.

The Role

This is not just a family cook position. You’ll move seamlessly between refined, restaurant-level dining and relaxed, joyful family meals, from a beautifully executed six-course tasting menu to Nutella and banana crêpes for the children.

You’ll have full ownership of the culinary experience:

• Cooking breakfast, lunch, and dinner when the family is in residence

• Designing diverse, creative menus across Italian, French, Japanese, Asian, and US cuisines

• Sourcing the very best ingredients, markets, suppliers, provenance-led produce

• Bringing storytelling and soul to the food

• Feeding teenagers who eat well and love good food

The family travels extensively and while this is not a full-time travelling role, there will be exciting opportunities to accompany them. You’ll be part of a close, respectful household team (housekeepers, butlers, house managers, nannies). This is a family home, kindness, discretion, and team spirit matter just as much as technical skill.

Key Details

• Based in Rome (non live-in)

• 6 days per week

• Autonomy over daily scheduling outside of mealtimes

• Must be a confident driver

• EU passport essential

• Italian language a strong plus (but not essential)

• Salary fully open and flexible depending on experience

Start date: June or September (flexible)
