Mechanical Maintenance Engineer - Bridgwater | £42,000 + Bonus + Benefits

Kingston Barnes is working exclusively with a leading manufacturing business based in Bridgwater, who are looking to bring on board a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join their high-performing engineering team.

This is a hands-on, technically diverse role supporting production agility and operational efficiency across a busy, forward-thinking site. It's a fantastic opportunity for someone with a solid background mechanical maintenance who's ready to make a real impact on site reliability and performance.

What you'll be doing:

* Maintaining and repairing production machinery - ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and safety.

* Conducting planned preventative maintenance (PPM) to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.

* Diagnosing mechanical faults and breakdowns quickly and effectively to keep production on track.

* Implementing improvements and upgrades to enhance machine performance and efficiency.

* Collaborating with production teams to resolve issues, share insights, and drive continuous improvement.

* Documenting work accurately and supporting compliance with quality, health, and safety standards.

What we're looking for:

* An engineering qualification (apprenticeship, HNC, HND or equivalent) is desirable, but hands-on experience and a practical mindset are equally important.

* Proven experience maintaining and repairing production or manufacturing equipment.

* Strong mechanical skills with a solid understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, and rotating machinery.

* Problem-solving ability - able to diagnose faults quickly and implement effective solutions.

* Knowledge of planned preventative maintenance (PPM) practices and techniques.

* Good communication skills to work effectively with production teams and other engineers.

* Commitment to health, safety, and quality standards in everything you do.

What's on offer:

* £42,000 per annum

* Annual bonus (4%)

* 25 days holiday + bank holidays

* Flexi start/finish times

* 37-hour week | Monday-Friday
