Salary: £55000 - £75000/annum

We are seeking an experienced Senior Temporary Works Engineer to join our engineering team. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 10-15 years' experience and will be able to demonstrate the leadership qualities needed to mentor junior designers and support project delivery across a range of complex civil engineering schemes.

Key Responsibilities:
• Lead the design, checking and coordination of a wide variety of temporary works, including but not limited to:
o Deep excavations and shoring
o Formwork and falsework
o Piling and Crane Platforms
o Temporary Access Roads
o Propping Systems
o Temporary access structures
• Ensure all internal and external designs meet current British Standards, Eurocodes, and temporary works procedures (e.g., BS 5975).
• Produce and review detailed CAD drawings
• Provide technical support and guidance to site teams during construction
• Act as a Temporary Works Designer and, where appropriate, as a Checker in line with procedural requirements.
• Take an active role in mentoring and developing junior engineers/designers, offering both technical and procedural guidance.
• Attend and contribute to site inspections, pre-construction meetings, and temporary works briefings across the central belt of Scotland.

Essential Requirements:
• Minimum 10-15 years' experience - ideally within Temporary Works Design, however, a combination of design and delivery will be considered with a minim of 10 years' design experience.
• Strong working knowledge of temporary works principles, codes, and regulations (particularly BS 5975).
• Proficient in AutoCAD
• Demonstrable experience in mentoring junior staff and contributing to team development.
• Able to manage multiple projects concurrently and prioritise changing workload demands.
• Willingness to travel to sites across the central belt of Scotland as required.
• Full UK driving licence.

Desirable Attributes:
• Degree Qualified in Civil / Structural Engineering
• Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status (e.g., CEng, IEng - ICE or IStructE).
• Temporary Works Coordinator (TWC) or Supervisor (TWS) certification.
• Experience of dealing with Network Rail and external stakeholders
• Experience with 3D software, such as Revit or Navisworks

Salary ranges between £55K-£75K depending on experience plus package, with the majority of projects focusing within the Water sector. The role is hybrid, and will be split between office, home and site based
