Join an industry leading, international business, as part of their dynamic finance team based on the North side of Sheffield as their Accounting and Reporting Manager.

As the Accounting and Reporting Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting. Reporting directly to the Head of Finance, you will take ownership of the accounting and reporting process within the company, while also mentoring and developing direct reports.

In this role, you will be responsible for managing the preparation of financial information, recording transactions, and overseeing the general ledger. Your application of professional accounting principles and methods will be essential in resolving a wide variety of accounting problems and transactions. With a focus on continuous improvement, you will proactively identify opportunities to enhance the finance function and implement necessary changes.

Your primary objectives will include ensuring accurate and timely periodic financial reporting, streamlining processes, maintaining robust financial controls, executing the accounting process, and maintaining accounting systems. Additionally, you will provide local ad hoc support to the Head of Finance, act as the line manager for the Finance Assistant and Assistant Financial Accountant, and contribute to the development of a strong financial control environment.

An accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) is preferred. With significant relevant experience. Sound knowledge of financial reporting, accounting, and local tax compliance is essential, along with some experience in people management and development. Familiarity with SAP is desirable, and proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, is expected.

The successful candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills, a collaborative mindset, and a proactive and independent work approach. Your strong problem-solving abilities, along with the ability to lead, motivate, and develop the finance team (Finance Assistant and Assistant Financial Accountant), will be critical to your success in this role. Effective communication skills and a rational demeanour are also important qualities.
