About the company:

Elevaton Recruitment Group are currently working with an  ambitious, dynamic and growing service business in Barnsley (S75), who have exciting plans for further growth so this is an exciting time to join the business. Due to this growth, they are now looking to add a Management Accountant to the team to help drive the continued success of the business.

The Management Accountant will play a key role in the production of timely and accurate management information to support business decision-making. This is a hands-on role that requires good technical accounting skills. strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate financial insights clearly to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.Benefits:

Hours: 9am – 5pm (Monday to Friday) with 45 mins for lunch

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare Monthly Management Accounts (including profit and loss and balance sheet)
  • Balance sheet reconciliations
  • Creation of Monthly Management Accounting Pack (Including variance analysis and commentary)
  • Monitor KPIs and assist management with financial planning and strategy
  • Cashflow reporting
  • Owning the budgeting and forecasting process (Including creation of annual budget)
  • Business partnering with operational stakeholders (Including marketing team which has large spend within the business)
  • Consolidating the accounts for two companies into one at month end
  • Maintain and develop internal financial controls and processes, creating of better and more accurate timely reporting
  • Liaising with the external accountant, auditors, and other external stakeholders
  • Support a small AP function with processing of supplier invoices and company expenses (Approx. 1-2 days work across the month)
  • Assist with regulatory reporting and compliance
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements

Person Specification

  • Qualified Accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) – Late PQ will also be considered
  • Experience working in practice, a financial services or other services business would be desirable
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines
  • Proactive and commercially minded
