We are excited to offer a full-time, permanent position for a Primary SEN (SEMH) Teacher at a dedicated specialist provision in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire, starting in September 2025. This role is ideal for someone with experience or a strong interest in working with children who have SEMH needs. For the right candidate, there is also potential for a TLR linked to leadership in an area such as behaviour support, curriculum development, or pastoral care.

The Role

Position: SEN Teacher (Primary - SEMH)

Location: Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire

Start Date: September 2025

Contract: Permanent, Full-Time

TLR: Available for the right candidate

In this role, you will:

*

Teach a small class of primary pupils with SEMH needs, supported by experienced teaching assistants

*

Develop and deliver creative, individualised lessons that engage and support pupils at different developmental levels

*

Foster emotional regulation, resilience and self-esteem through a trauma-informed approach

*

Collaborate with therapists, support staff, families and external agencies to support holistic development

*

Contribute to the wider life of the school, with potential to lead on key areas (if applying for TLR)

What We're Looking For

A qualified teacher (QTS or equivalent) with experience or a strong interest in working with children with SEMH

*

A patient, compassionate and resilient practitioner who understands the importance of emotional development alongside academic progress

*

Someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and is committed to inclusive, child-centred education

*

Strong classroom management skills and the ability to build positive, trusting relationships

*

A reflective educator willing to adapt, learn and grow with the role

*
