Field Service Engineer

(Industrial Heat-Field Based)

Circa £38,000 + benefits

MC Technical Recruitment is currently looking to recruit an experienced Field Service Engineer to cover a number of client sites across Scotland.

Our client has led the development of the market for wood pellet fuel in Ireland and Britain. They operate biomass Combined Heat and Power plants that produce renewable energy.

As a Field Service Engineer, you will be working as part of a team to deliver carbon neutral solutions to company clients.

The role involves travelling to client sites throughout Scotland, staying away overnight as required, to carry out engineering and maintenance support to maximise the availability, efficiency, and performance of industrial biomass steam boilers.

As the Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for:

Manage planned preventative and corrective maintenance (PPMs).
Respond quickly to breakdowns.
Routine servicing and inspection of mechanical plant, electrical equipment, and instrumentation within the portfolio.
Fault finding and trouble shooting.
Managing sub-contractors, and ensure they conform to site requirements.
Ensure service delivery is supplied to the client under contract KPIs.
General house-keeping duties as and when necessary.
Occasional overnight stays are required as per business needs.
Ensuring Health & Safety compliance at all times
Other duties as required.
To be considered for this role you should have:

A relevant engineering qualification at NVQ level 3/ONC/HNC level or above/apprenticeship in a mechanical/electrical engineering discipline.
Hands on maintenance experience gained in a heavy industrial or continuous process environment e.g. power generation, paper mill, distillery, food production, FMCG etc
Good planning and organizational skills.
Working knowledge of MS Office i.e., Excel, Word and Outlook.
Ideally experience of steam boilers and/ or wood pellet biomass systems - in particular boiler servicing/breakdown repair and storage/fuel feed systems desirable.
Basic understanding of PLC control system also desirable.
Full UK driving licence, ability to travel throughout Scotland as necessary.
