Job Description


We are hiring a sales manager on behalf of a well-established, growing client. This position is responsible for assisting in the creation of annual sales plans and implementing the plan to meet or exceed budgeted revenue goals, and manage a staff of outside sales engineers, while embracing the Company's core values.Our client is looking for the RIGHT person and offers a competitive pay range, great place to work and grow your career!

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Executes annual business plan in alignment with company goals and objectives
  • Ensures achievement of quarterly and annual sales goals of assigned Sales team
  • Manages and adheres to annual budget guidance and provides monthly P&L audit to director
  • Manages direct reports and indirect sales and support staff including but not limited to hiring, coaching, counseling and rewarding performance
  • Develops and monitors work flows, reviews work processes and ensures quality service delivery, including monitoring, and auditing efficiency
  • Approves department sales commission plan payouts
  • Manages and communicates sales processes while enforcing all company policies and procedures
  • Works collaboratively with the inside sales and operations teams on procedures and practices as to work flow, schedules and other related activities
  • Develops strategic plans and goals to guide the sales team, financial performance, personnel activities to achieve desired objectives for profit and return on investment for the sales division
  • Responsible for functional leadership of CRM platform—business process/rules, user interface modifications and reports to ensure maximum process efficiency and maximum business insight. Institutionalize standard work through developing and enforcing functional user training (how-to and why)
  • Meets or exceeds sales quotas on a quarterly basis
  • Identifies and assigns training to improve sales specific skills and to increase efficiency and effectiveness of the sales team
  • Ensures that outside sales team maintains a sales pipeline worth 150% of budgeted revenue targets, while effectively making sales calls, quoting and prospecting
  • Identifies prospects in key vertical markets and develop appropriate forecasts. Utilizes data to develop, assign and communicate goals
  • Develops and negotiates new business opportunities that maximize profitability and account engagement
  • Collects competitive intelligence and formulating proven solutions to combat competitive actions in the field to achieve sales quota requirements
  • Uses a CRM on a daily basis to maintain customer project data and 'course-correct' sales strategy/tactical activity and achievements based on trends
  • Maintains day to day communication with finance/operations peers and leadership team to empower cross-functional preparedness & cooperation
  • Works with marketing to develop prospecting campaigns and promotions to generate new business
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Education, Qualifications, Skills, Competencies and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • Demonstrated mastery of, and passion for, the art of selling industrial products, especially heavily engineered assembled to order/engineered to ordered solutions purchased in non-residential construction markets.
  • Five or more years of experience with a proven track record in closing deals and exceeding quota
  • Ability to demonstrate successful sales growth in previous roles and contribution to business strategy overall
  • Ability to mentor, coach, develop and motivate the members of the sales team
  • Outstanding writing and presentation skills, mastery of MS Office applications, and electrical/mechanical products/solution selling
  • Experience and relevant contacts within construction or electrical influencers and buyers/contractors
