Training to be provided Foundation Degree in Mineral Products Technology at University of Derby SHE NVQ Level 4 Ignite Management Programme Further Details Working Week Paid hours per week: 40 Wage: £307 Expected duration 3 Years Vacancy description Aggregate Industries Higher Apprenticeship offers numerous structured development paths in one of the following areas:, Aggregates, Cement and ; During the Apprenticeship you will complete a Foundation Degree in Mineral Products Technology at the University of Derby, but the learning doesn’t stop there.
Throughout the apprenticeship you are given the opportunity to attend various courses organised by the Company’s central Learning and Development Team.
Whilst on site you will be given a tailored training plan to work through and are supported by both your allocated Mentor and your Manager.
On a day to day basis you will be given greater exposure to your division and the roles of your team members.
Our overarching Company value is Health and Safety and to assist you in understanding the underlying concepts of this value, we require our apprentices to complete an NVQ Level 4 in Health, Safety and ; As an employer we are committed to developing young people through our business.
We currently have around 150 apprentices and graduates, working towards their ultimate career goals and achieving great success.
It is required that you hold a full UK driving licence for this role.
Job duties: Dependant on your placement in time you will learn how to: optimising the effectiveness of their team by actively participating in daily/weekly briefings, appraisals and reviews; working with all members of the management team to continually raise the Health, Safety and Environmental standards of the company; Plan, process and produce materials and products such as Minerals and concrete.
Maximise productivity of marine operations, mineral and readymix processing by making cost effective use of resources, products and equipment.
Identify ways to improve processes by monitoring production process and end product.
Monitor and report deficiencies across site to senior managers, including products, people and equipment.
ensuring all contractors who carry out work on-site are inducted, monitored and supervised to ensure safe working practices are adhered to; ensuring that all plant and equipment is maintained to a high standard and all production systems and products comply with all current quality standards; ensuring all company and regulatory inspections and reports and completed; liaising with the sales team and customers to ensure the site delivers the highest standard in customer Explore and evaluate options for reducing or recycling waste Successfully completing the apprenticeship programme Further Details Desired skills: Good standard of English Language and numerical skills Ability to communicate at all levels and good interpersonal skills Ability to communicate in a multi-functional site Ability to create innovative solutions to problems that may arise on a daily basis Strong organisational and time management skills Ability to work as part of a team using own initiative Knowledge of the construction and infrastructure materials industries Desired personal qualities: Desire to work in a challenging and fast paced organisation Positive work ethic and proactive approach to development Drive and determination to succeed Willingness to work across the UK if required Adaptability to a range of work scenarios Our minimum entry requirements are: 5 GCSE’s Grade A*- C including Mathematics, English Language and Science 2 A levels Grade A-B, with at least 1 STEM Subject (Science, Technology, Engineering or Maths) or 80 UCAS points We recruit from a range of academic disciplines and have particular interest in technically orientated and business related subjects.
