Working as part of a specialist Central Fire Safety team - and reporting directly to the Head of Fire Safety - you'll play a key role in protecting people, property, and pioneering research environments.

What you'll be doing

You'll act as a trusted fire safety expert across the organisation, delivering practical and strategic support. Your responsibilities will include:

* Conducting and reviewing fire risk assessments across complex buildings

* Leading audits, inspections, and compliance reviews

* Supporting emergency planning and fire drills

* Advising on events, refurbishments, and major construction projects

* Investigating fire incidents and alarm activations

* Liaising with Fire & Rescue Services, building control, and contractors

* Delivering tailored fire safety training to staff across the university

What we're looking for

* NEBOSH Fire Safety Certificate (or equivalent)

* Proven experience in operational fire safety management and FRA delivery

* Strong working knowledge of UK fire safety legislation and PAS 79

* Experience with passive and active fire protection systems

* A confident communicator with the ability to influence at all levels

* A proactive mindset with a passion for driving high safety standards
