SEMH Teaching Assistant - Salisbury

Prospero Teaching are supporting an Alternative Provision near central Salisbury that works with young people aged 7-16 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The provision is looking to expand its team with staff who can provide consistent, empathetic support, helping students regulate, engage in learning, and build confidence.

We are looking for Teaching Assistants who:

• Have a calm, patient, and resilient approach
• Can build strong, trusting relationships with students
• Bring energy, positivity, and a sense of humour to challenging situations
• Are adaptable and confident managing behaviour in a structured environment
• Understand that progress may be gradual and value small wins

Contract details:

• Location - Salisbury, Wiltshire
• Position - SEMH Teaching Assistant
• Start date - ASAP
• Contract type - Long term supply or temp to perm
• Duration - Ongoing
• Full time - Full time role
• Minimum rate of pay - £14.96 per hour

Eligibility:

• Grade C/4 or above in English and Maths (GCSE)
• Calm, consistent, and nurturing approach
• Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence
• Reliable, proactive, and able to use initiative
