A friendly and forward-thinking primary school in High Wycombe is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 2 Class Teacher to join its committed team from September 2025. This full-time, permanent position is an excellent opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about high-quality teaching and supporting children at this crucial stage of Key Stage 1.

About the Role

As a Year 2 Teacher, you will be responsible for supporting pupils through the final year of Key Stage 1, helping them prepare for the transition into Key Stage 2. You will deliver well-structured lessons, monitor progress, and create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports both academic and personal development.

Key responsibilities include:

Planning and delivering engaging, age-appropriate lessons in line with the KS1 curriculum

*

Using formative and summative assessment to identify needs and support pupil progress

*

Creating a safe, respectful, and stimulating classroom environment

*

Working collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and carers to ensure each child reaches their full potential

*

Contributing to the wider school community, including school events and enrichment activities

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will be a reflective, enthusiastic professional with strong subject knowledge and a child-centred approach.

Essential criteria:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

*

Experience teaching in Key Stage 1, preferably in Year 2

*

A clear understanding of phonics, early literacy, and numeracy strategies

*

Strong classroom and behaviour management skills

*

Effective communication and collaboration skills

*

A commitment to inclusive practice and ongoing professional development
