Job Specification

Position: 2nd Line Onsite Engineer
Location: Lytham, FY8
Work Pattern: Monday - Friday, 09:00 - 17:00
Remote Work: Option for 1-day WFH per week (subject to performance)
Start Date: ASAP
Clearance Required: SC Clearance & BPSS
On-Call Requirement: Once up to speed, participation in a paid, shared on-call rota to respond to P1 major incidents outside normal service hours.

Role Overview

ECS Group is seeking a skilled and proactive 2nd Line Onsite Engineer to provide efficient and timely support to end users. This role is critical in maintaining business continuity and ensuring high-quality IT service delivery within a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver second-level BAU (Business As Usual) support to end users with professionalism and efficiency.
Act as "smart hands" for other IT teams and Service Management to support business continuity.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across hardware, software, and network systems.
Participate in the on-call rota for major incident response once fully trained.
Maintain documentation and contribute to knowledge base articles for recurring issues.

Required Skills & Experience

Strong working knowledge of:
Microsoft Operating Systems
Microsoft Exchange
Microsoft Office & Office 365
Microsoft Teams
SCCM & Intune
Basic to intermediate networking knowledge.
Experience in a team-oriented, collaborative IT environment, ideally within Financial Services.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

Candidates must hold SC Clearance and BPSS
