We are looking for an inspiring and strategic Operations Director/ResponsibIe Indivdual to lead and develop a portfolio of EBD homes in Hornchurch

This is a pivotal role for a professional with vision, resilience, and genuine passion for delivering safe, nurturing, and life-changing support for children and young people.

We are keen to speak with individuals who work on a consultancy/day rate basis

The Role

As Operations Director/Responsible Individual I, you will:

* Provide strong, consistent leadership to Responsible Individuals and Registered Managers.

* Oversee compliance, safeguarding, quality, and performance across all homes.

* Lead Ofsted preparation, inspections, and post-inspection responses driving 'Good' or 'Outstanding' outcomes.

* Develop and embed quality assurance frameworks and continuous improvement practices.

* Work collaboratively with Local Authorities, safeguarding partners, and external agencies.

* Ensure children's welfare, voice, and development remain central to every aspect of service delivery.

* Maintain operational oversight through regular visits, audits, and visible leadership.

Key Requirements

Essential:

* Minimum 3 years' senior leadership experience in children's residential care.

* Strong working knowledge of Ofsted frameworks, Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015, and safeguarding legislation.

* Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent).

* Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop Registered Managers.

* Demonstrable success overseeing multiple homes or services.

* Exceptional communication, people leadership, and organisational skills
