A well established, reputable service business based in Harrogate have an opportunity for an Accounts Assistant to join their warm, friendly, and fast-paced team on a full time, permanent basis. On offer is a salary of up to £25,000, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, free onsite parking and the option to work from home one day a week. There is also a 5% bonus offered with the role.

Reporting into the Finance Manager, key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting with and taking responsibility for the cashbook and bank reconciliations process
  • Raising and processing of payments to strict deadlines
  • Assisting with the production and processing of invoices when needed
  • Providing support around the balance sheet when required
  • Producing accruals, prepayments, and journals
  • Assisting with any project work within the finance team and liaising with key stakeholders
  • Maintaining accuracy with transactions and ensuring the all internal processes are followed and are audit proof
  • As the role progresses the position with assist more closely with the month end and management accounts process
Suitable individuals will ideally:-

  • Have some previous finance experience or will have a recent finance related degree
  • Have a passion to work within finance and will have either started studying AAT/CIMA/ACCA or will be committed to completing their studies whilst gaining practical working experience
  • Be able to prioritise workload to meet deadlines whilst retaining accuracy
  • Be highly organised and able to manage own workload effectively
  • Have strong attention to detail
  • Will be fully competent with Microsoft Word and Excel
