Reed Engineering are currently supporting a leading manufacturer in their search for a Process & Production Engineer to join their engineering team.
This is an exciting opportunity for a graduate-level engineer with a strong background in manufacturing or production engineering to play a key role in driving continuous improvement across the shop floor. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting and enhancing production processes, developing work instructions, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient and high-quality output.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate continuous improvement (CI) initiatives, including workflow optimization, layout planning, and risk assessments.
- Develop, introduce, and maintain routing and work instructions.
- Support quality assurance with root cause analysis and non-conformance investigations.
- Manage engineering change requests (ECRs), process documentation, and reporting.
- Assist in the development of new products and processes alongside the design engineering team.
- Train and support production staff, particularly during first-off builds and new product introductions.
- Contribute to tooling development and production enhancements.
- Apply Lean manufacturing tools and support 5S initiatives to improve efficiency.
- Collaborate with production supervisors to ensure smooth and effective production builds.
- Assess and support training needs across the shop floor.
Candidate Requirements:
- Degree-qualified in an engineering discipline.
- Proven experience in a manufacturing or production engineering environment.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across departments and with external stakeholders.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
Location & Travel:
The role is primarily based on-site, with occasional travel to other facilities, customers, or suppliers as required.
