Solution Architect (Data Science & AI)

Location: Welwyn Garden City / Hybrid

Overview

As our client continues to scale its AI and Data Science initiatives, we are looking for a Solution Architect to design and guide the delivery of robust, scalable platforms for use cases such as payroll accuracy and P&L solutions.

This role requires a deep understanding of cloud-based data platforms, AI/ML architectures, and integration within a complex retail and finance technology environment.

Key Responsibilities

* Define end-to-end solution architectures for Data Science and AI products.

* Ensure scalability, security, and performance of new systems.

* Collaborate with Engineering, Product, and Data Science teams to shape technical design.

* Provide governance and technical direction across multiple squads.

* Align solutions with Tesco's broader data and technology strategy.

Skills & Experience

* Proven experience as a Solution Architect in Data Science, AI/ML, or advanced analytics projects.

* Strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and big data ecosystems.

* Strong experience within Data Science and AI (ML, LLM)

* Experience in large-scale data integration, APIs, and real-time analytics.

* Background in finance or retail systems highly desirable.

* Ability to communicate complex architectures clearly to both technical and business audiences
