Are you a dedicated and experienced SEN professional ready to take on a leadership role in a supportive and inclusive educational setting? We are seeking an enthusiastic SENCO to join a well-resourced and welcoming school in Milton Keynes, starting September 2025. You will lead the SEN provision across the school, supporting students with a range of additional needs, including Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD).

This is a fantastic opportunity for an organised, compassionate, and knowledgeable individual to make a real impact on the lives of children with complex needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage the SEN provision across the school, ensuring best practice in support strategies and interventions.

Coordinate and review Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), working closely with teachers, therapists, and external agencies.

Provide guidance and training to staff on effective SEN strategies, particularly those relevant to PMLD.

Oversee assessment processes using frameworks such as P Levels, the Engagement Model, and other SEN-specific tools.

Foster strong relationships with pupils, parents/carers, and professionals to support holistic development.

Ensure high standards of safeguarding, inclusion, and well-being for all pupils with SEND.

Support classroom teaching where needed and model outstanding SEN practice.

Contribute to the strategic development of SEN provision across the school.

Requirements:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and ideally the National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO) (or willingness to work towards it).

Proven experience working with children with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) or other complex needs.

Excellent understanding of SEN policy, legislation, and effective intervention strategies.

Strong leadership, organisation, and communication skills.

Experience working collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team.

A patient, empathetic, and reflective approach to supporting children with additional needs.
