RG Consultancy are working with an SME client who are looking for an Assistant Accountant to join them on a full time, permanent basis. This is as great opportunity to expand finance skills with a supportive team who provide study support if required.
The assistant accountant role reports directly into the Finance Manager and is responsible for the following:
- Calculate and post monthly journals to ensure accurate reporting of financial results.
- Complete bank reconciliations for all accounts in GBP, EUR and USD
- Post all bank receipts and payments
- Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations with all balances fully explained. This includes but is not limited to Fixed assets, debtors, prepayments, accruals, trade creditors.
- Ensure resolution of any in accurate postings, queries.
- Post monthly salary journals and associated payroll costs.
- Adhere to an agreed monthly timetable for financial reporting.
- Purchase Ledger: Supplier invoices, payment terms, payment processing, master data, reporting and supplier reconciliations
- Sales Ledger: Weekly credit control reporting; Analysis of overdue and imminently due invoices; Taking proactive action to ensure customers pay to terms; Attendance at regular credit control meetings; Management of orders on hold
- Complete VAT returns on a monthly / quarterly basis
