The Company:

We are working with a world class, leading manufacturer of high-end steel components which offers a diversified range of high-tech products and services and operates globally.

With exciting future plans ahead, our client is looking to add a Senior Quality Engineer to lead and manage the activities of the existing Quality Team.

The Role:

As the lead of the Quality Team, the Senior Quality Engineer will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the quality control activities relating to operations within the business. The role will include liaising with all departments to ensure all quality requirements are understood, implemented and maintained. This is a business-critical role that is fundamental to all areas of the business and both its customer and supplier base. This position contributes greatly to the development and growth of the business whilst maintaining the company's safety and quality standards. In addition, the Senior Quality Engineer oversees a number of processes to ensure that all products supplied by the business are in accordance with national and internationally recognised standards and specifications for a wide range of products and services.

Key responsibilities and duties:

* Identification and implementation of quality controls within the production areas, using tools such as FMECA and risk assessments.

* Managing the Quality Control Inspectors.

* Managing First Article Inspections.

* Supporting the inspection of wheels and axles using both CMM, FARO and hand measuring equipment.

* Supporting 1st 2nd and 3rd Party audits.

* Supporting supplier product approval.

* Manage and maintain the non-conformance process, providing information to the customer as required.

* Support the Safety Related Incident process.

* Use problem solving tools (8D) to investigate product quality issues.

* Implement and sustain quality improvements.

* Manage and maintain the Calibration System.

* Supporting new product implementation, ensuring compliance has been met.

What We Are Looking For:

As the Senior Quality Engineer, you will be highly organised and be able to perform multiple tasks at the same time. You will be passionate about product excellence and have excellent communication skills.

The ideal candidate will have the following key attributes:

* A minimum of 5 years working in a Quality role within a manufacturing environment.

* A recognised technical qualification, preferably in an Engineering discipline.

* Understanding of CMM measurement techniques.

* In depth understanding of engineering / technical drawings.

* Experience in CNC machining.

* Fundamental understanding of CMM machines and inspection techniques.

* Ability to work on own initiative.

* Ability to prioritise work.

* Self motivated with excellent attention to detail.

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

* IT literate and familiar with Microsoft office software.

What is On Offer:

The Senior Quality Engineer will receive a competitive basic salary of up to £38,000 dependent on specific experience. In addition, you will receive:

* 33 days holiday (including Stats.) with option to purchase up to 5 additional days.

* 5% pension contribution.

* Option for early finish Friday.

* 37-hour week.

* Company / personal bonus scheme can earn up to 3% of salary subject to individual and company performance
