HGV Class 1 Driver - Container / Port Work - C+E - Falkirk
People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Driver - Container / Port Work - C+E to join our well-established client based in Falkirk. This is a fantastic opportunity offering excellent rates of pay, ongoing work and genuine opportunities for growth and progression.
This role involves container collections and deliveries using Class 1 C+E vehicles, working with 20ft-45ft containers, skelly trailers and twistlocks across Scotland.
Shifts
• Monday to Friday (weekend work available)
• AM start times from 05:30
Rates of Pay
• £15.00 per hour (Monday to Friday)
• £18.00 per hour (Weekends)

Day-to-Day Duties
As an HGV Class 1 Container Driver, your duties will include (but are not limited to):
• Completing Class 1 container terminal collections and dock work
• Operating 20ft to 45ft container boxes safely and efficiently
• Operating Category C+E vehicles in line with transport regulations
• Working with skelly trailers, twistlocks and sliding trailers
• Carrying out pre- and post-journey vehicle inspections
• Ensuring containers are loaded, secured and transported safely
• Adhering to UK traffic laws and transport regulations
• Communicating with the transport office and customers
• Reporting any vehicle defects or issues
• Assisting with loading and unloading when required
Essential Skills
To be successful as an HGV Class 1 Container Driver, you will need:
• A valid UK Category C+E (Class 1) Driving Licence
• A minimum of 12 months' Class 1 driving experience
• A valid Driver CPC qualification
• A valid Digital Tachograph card
• No more than six penalty points for minor offences
• No major endorsement codes
• Good spoken and written English
• Excellent punctuality and timekeeping
• Strong understanding of UK road traffic laws
Desirable Experience
• Previous container or port driving experience
• Experience using skelly trailers, twistlocks and sliders
Training Provided
• Driver induction and driving assessment required prior to starting
• One-day paid induction following successful assessment
• Ongoing industry-related training and support
