Henderson Scott are recruiting for an Accounts Assistant to join a SME business in Birmingham. This position will join a newly created finance team who have achieved ambitious growth year on year and look to add an additional member to their buoyant finance team.
This is a hybrid working role and offer flexible start and finish times.
Key areas of responsibility:
- Help prepare month-end reports and schedules.
- Record accruals and prepayments related to invoices.
- Assist the finance team with reconciliations and reviewing variances.
- Manage staff expenses using Concur and company credit cards.
- Receive and log invoices.
- Track payments to make sure they follow internal processes.
- Match supplier statements and fix any issues.
- Check that VAT is applied and recorded correctly.
- Help with audits by providing the needed documents and explanations.
- Keep the fixed asset register updated.
- Work out depreciation and check it matches what's posted in the system.
Your Profile:
- Good understanding of accounting and finance processes.
- Confident using accounting software and spreadsheets.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Great attention to detail and good organisation.
- Clear communication skills.
Salary:
£30,000 - £33,000
