Outsourced Finance Manager/Senior Manager
Newcastle Upon Tyne
£50,000 to £60,000 per annum
Monday-Friday, hybrid working
Overview and Opportunity
We are supporting a growing independent Accountancy firm based in Newcastle Upon Tyne with the appointment of Outsourced Finance Manager or Senior Manager to join their growing outsourced function.
Role Responsibilities
- Own and manage a portfolio of SME clients spanning across multiple sectors.
- Lead client onboarding, delivery planning and ongoing relationship management.
- Oversee delivery of monthly financial outputs including accounts recievable/payable, reconciliations, VAT returns, management accounts, cash flow forecasts, MI packs, year-end statutory accounts and corporation tax preparation.
- Coordinate preparation of P11Ds and PSA submissions, liaising with internal and external tax teams as required.
- Ensure accurate and timely delivery leveraging cloud-based financial tools.
- Proactively identify and resolve issues, escalate risks early and maintain high quality service standards.
- Manage, mentor and support a team of assistants, executives and assistant managers.
- Allocate and monitor daily workflows to meet deadlines and uphold quality standards.
- Provide coaching, training and guidance to develop team capability and confidence.
- Review team output for accuracy, compliance and alignment with internal standards.
- Drive continuous improvement in internal processes, reporting templates and delivery methods.
- Utilise automation and finance technology to enhance efficiency and scalability.
- Monitor KPIs, WIP, and recoverability across client portfolios.
- Take ownership of challenges, contributing proactively to team-wide process enhancements.
Candidate Requirements
- ACA / ACCA qualified (or qualified by experience in a similar client facing role).
- Experience managing a portfolio of SME clients in practice, outsourced finance or similar environments.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Leadership or people management experience.
