Overview

A well-established accountancy practice is looking for a NEW Senior Accountant position within their team. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a respected, modern and supportive practice offering genuine development, long-term prospects, and a welcoming working environment.

This role will involve preparing accounts, supporting directors across a variety of client portfolios, and offering hands-on assistance with bookkeeping systems such as Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, and Excel.

This role is Monday–Friday, 37.5hrs, with a supportive and friendly team structure.

Salary is dependent on experience/qualifications. Higher salaries can be discussed.

Duties

• Preparation of accounts for clients as requested by the directors – IRIS or otherwise
• Including basic tax computations (sole trader / partnership and unaudited company accounts)
• Analysis of accounting data and supporting documents for the purpose of clients' income tax affairs (e.g. income and expenditure accounts)
• Assistance with the preparation of regular management accounting information from client data and liaising with the relevant director
• Preparation of VAT returns on behalf of clients and liaising with directors/clients as required
• Providing accounting support as required by directors, including maintenance and preparation of client accounting systems
• Support and advice to clients on systems such as Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, and Excel (bookkeeping requirements)
• Preparation and posting of opening balance journals
• Preparation of draft Corporation Tax computations
• Assisting directors with filing returns and computations with relevant authorities as directed by the partner
• Preparation of other accounting or tax schedules as instructed by the directors

What we're looking for

A successful candidate for this role will be able to demonstrate circa 4+ years prior UK Practice experience with exposure to duties named above. You must live within a 45 minute commute of Bexhill.
