Our client is seeking a Manager, Design will be part of the Product Design team and reports to the Head of Design. This team is responsible for designing the digital product experience (mobile, mobile web, and online web apps) for clients, candidates, and talent professionals. The design team leverages human-centered methods and platforms such as user research, service design, digital product design for native mobile and responsive web apps (interaction and visual design), information architecture, job stories, workshop design and facilitation, design strategy, and design systems. At the more senior levels, IC and manager leadership responsibilities include scoping and defining work; facilitating, co-creating, and communicating design strategy and vision cross-functionally, including to executives; structuring design workflow, teaching and elevating design competency in other functions; directing, developing, and coaching other designers, and structuring a culture of critique and feedback Specific responsibilities include: -Collaborate with leadership to define, scope, and prioritize key initiatives and manage resource allocation
-Facilitate design thinking workshops/work sessions to help frame key initiatives and understand outcomes
-Communicate design vision, strategy, and business value of design to executive leadership and team members
-Introduce and advocate for service design methods into discovery initiatives
-Structure and operationalize user-centered agile process within product squads
-Define key metrics, measure, and report on business value of design outcomes
-Coach and mentor team members
-Structure methods and principles for productive critique
-Develop team members detail oriented growth
-Communicate vision, strategy, and outcomes for design team
-Define rubric and system to assess team member performance
-Establish a foundation and strategy for design systems
-Help teach and build design competency across functions (e.g. design thinking, human-centered design, etc.)
-Help create awareness and evangelize design’s contribution in the company
-Help executives talk about design externally
-Develop a hiring process that enables hiring high-quality design talent
-Monitor user behavior and satisfaction on product experiences
-Help define mechanism to recruit customers for research
-Structure design critiques
-Operationalize and incorporate Jobs to be done into design work
-Track design team behaviors (e.g. speed, number of experiments, user exposure hours)
-Facilitate retrospectives and post-mortemsJob Requirements:
-Bachelor’s Degree in Design or equivalent
-5+ years of experience in a design or related field
-Experience with service design methods and designing for service experiences
-2+ years managing a team of UX professionals
-Mastery of skills in interaction and visual design, design systems, low and high-fidelity prototypes, generative and evaluative user research, experience mapping, information architecture, task modeling,
-Highly proficient in Adobe XD, Sketch, Figma, Adobe Creative suite and virtual collaboration tools (like Miro, Mural, and Freehand)
-Understanding of mobile device and mobile web technology capabilities Expert understanding of design thinking and phases of the design process
-Excellent oral/written communication skills.
-Manage multiple tasks with excellent time management skills
-Experience working and collaborating with diverse teams in a dynamic, rapid growth environment.
