CONSTRUCTION SITE MANAGER - MACCLESFIELD (ONSITE) - £70,000/£80,000 PER ANNUM - LIFE SCIENCES & PHARMACEUTICAL EXPERIENCE
We are working in partnership with a prestigious Tier 1 contractor seeking a highly capable MEP Project Manager to lead the delivery of complex mechanical and electrical packages on major construction projects. This is a key leadership role within the Building Services team and a fantastic opportunity to join an organisation delivering some of the most challenging and high-profile projects in the UK.
Your Role:As the MEP Project Manager, you'll be at the heart of project delivery-taking ownership of MEP integration from pre-construction through to final commissioning and handover. You'll work closely with internal departments, MEP contractors, and utility providers to ensure all building services are coordinated, compliant, and delivered to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:Champion the application of Building Services Management Systems, providing technical direction and leadership across live projects.
Support the delivery of the Building Services strategy and contribute to long-term business goals and values.
Drive the MEP procurement process, supporting tendering and award in line with project strategy.
Manage temporary electrical requirements on-site, ensuring energy assessments align with internal standards.
Oversee full integration of MEP systems within the wider construction programme.
Ensure all works adhere to Building Services Procedures, Project Execution Plans, and industry best practices.
Lead MEP coordination efforts-including builders' works drawings and utility interfaces-to maintain programme alignment.
Engage proactively with utility providers from project inception to manage infrastructure and connection timelines.
Track key equipment and plant through approval, procurement, delivery, and installation stages.
Finalise and integrate installation and commissioning programmes with the master project schedule.
Promote a safety-first culture, ensuring live energy practices and QMS systems are followed.
About You:Proven experience managing complex, large-scale MEP packages on construction projects.
Deep understanding of the MEP supply chain and current market dynamics.
Strong involvement across all project phases-from estimating and pre-construction to commissioning and handover.
Technically strong with excellent commercial awareness and stakeholder management skills.
Positive safety mindset and understanding of live energy environments.
Confident in implementing quality management systems (QMS), inspection & test plans (ITPs), and commissioning/handover plans.
Excellent communication and coordination abilities across multidisciplinary teams.
Self-motivated with strong attention to detail and a proactive, delivery-focused mindset.
Qualifications:Degree in Building Services, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
Membership of a professional body (e.g. CIBSE, CIOB, IEI) desirable.
IOSH certification or equivalent in Health & Safety Management.
Training in Live Energies / Arc Flash (preferred).
Skilled in Planning and Programming construction and MEP activities.
