Job Title: 1:1 Learning Support Assistant

Leader Education are recruiting a Learning Support Assistant to work within a Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) school based in Durham.
This Learning Support Assistant role will involve working on a 1:1 basis with a pupil with complex autism, therefore, the successful candidate will be consistent, positive, and dedicated to providing the best educational outcomes.
The normal working pattern is Monday-Friday 8:30 until 16:30 and is a long-term position.

The successful candidate will:
- Have a fully enhanced DBS or be willing to obtain one.
- Have previous training or work experience working alongside individuals with autism.
- Establish a supportive and consistent relationship, promoting a positive learning experience.
- Communicate effectively on a 1:1 basis as well as with external professionals.
- Have a knowledge and understanding of the academic, emotional, and behavioural needs of the child and respond to these effectively.
- Be flexible and resilient.
- Possess good classroom skills.
