GSL Education are seeking a Primary Specialist Teaching and Learning Assistant to join a supportive, multi-disciplinary team in Chesterfield, providing dedicated SEN support within primary settings.

This rewarding role involves working closely with students who have a range of behavioural and educational needs, including ASD, ADHD, ODD, and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges. As part of a small, dynamic team, you'll help ensure the smooth running of the school day while making a real impact on students' progress and well-being.

As a Primary Specialist Teaching and Learning Assistant, your responsibilities will be:

Provide targeted support to children across the primary age range
Assist in delivering personalised learning programmes
Work with individuals or small groups, occasionally leading sessions in staff absence
Promote positive behaviour, engagement, and emotional regulation
Support lesson planning and contribute to a nurturing classroom environment
Collaborate with colleagues to meet pupils' learning and emotional needs
Uphold school policies and maintain accurate records
Job Requirements:

Previous experience working in a school environment as a Primary Specialist Teaching and Learning Assistant (essential)
Must be a driver with access to a vehicle and business insurance (essential), this role is based on Mileage Paid
Understanding of and experience with ASD, ADHD, ODD, and SEMH needs
CACHE Level 2 or 3 / NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare or Teaching Assistance (desirable)
Ability to adapt quickly, step in when required, and maintain a calm, professional manner
Growth mindset, positive ethos, and commitment to inclusive education
have an Enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to apply
