Assembly and Production Operatives -Derby City Centre x5

Hours: Monday-Thursday 8:00am-4:30pm & Friday 8:00am-1:30pm (37.5 hours a week) early finish on Fridays

Pay rate: £13.57 per hour paid weekly

Location: Derby City Centre

Contract: full time Temp to Perm - Ongoing full-time position with chance to gain a permanent position

You will be working with a worldwide leader of the manufacturing sector making gangways and other products for the transportation industry. Your new role will involve but not limited to:

Your new position will involve you working within a small team of operatives, up to 5 people who offer a down to earth, friendly, family-like atmosphere of work, early finishes on a Friday, and on occasion breakfast is offered too.

You will be required to work within a small team, as well as individually assembling gangways and other products, for the transportation industry, including trains, trams, & buses, ensuring excellent attention to detail is being followed and taking a real pride in the work you are producing.

See below some more details of the roles you will be required to do

  • Using Hand power tools regularly on a repetitive basis, such as drills, hammer drills, jigsaws, and many more - this is essential for this position and must have experience as there will be a skill test for this
  • Using and building metal frames to be built into trains/buses
  • Drilling and fixing screws and other small components into place
  • Quality checking products to ensure they are safe to use
  • Being on your feet, working at a work bench carrying out repetitive production & assembly tasks.
  • Assisting in the production of products that are to be used on transport such as trains/trams/buses.

Location:

Your next new job is just off Mansfield Road, where full car parking is available, and just a 7 minute drive from Derbion shopping centre. There is also a bus stop nearby, which is 17 minutes from Derbion shopping centre, however there will be a short 6 minute walk to the site please consider this before applying.

  • Has worked in a production & assembly environment or similar. Essential
  • Has used handheld tools previously, and confident to use these. Essential
  • Enjoys making products by hand, and has conducted home maintenance tasks
  • Has a attention to detail, and has the drive, & ambition to do a fantastic job.
  • Is looking for a long-term role that can lead to a permanent position
  • Is willing to be trained and progress
  • Can work as part of a small team as well as individually.
  • Can start as soon as possible and arrange meetings with the site before Christmas
  • Down to earth, honest, and reliable
  • Has the ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally.
