A thriving and oversubscribed 11-18 academy in Portsmouth is looking to appoint a skilled Design & Technology Teacher to join their forward-thinking Technology faculty. The school offers a rich curriculum including Product Design, Engineering, Graphics, and Food.

Job Responsibilities

Teach DT across KS3-KS4, with KS5 Product Design and/or Engineering if desired

*

Encourage innovation, sustainability, and user-focused design through practical, project-based learning

*

Deliver a broad range of skills—from resistant materials and electronics to CAD/CAM, textiles, or 3D design

*

Promote creative and critical thinking, preparing students for careers in design, architecture, or engineering

Candidate Essentials

*

QTS and a relevant degree (Product Design, Engineering, Architecture, etc.)

*

Confident using CAD tools (e.g. Fusion 360, SketchUp) and machinery in line with H&S guidelines

*

Clear commitment to inclusive teaching and the development of practical problem-solving skills

*

Ability to lead or support extracurricular clubs and interschool competitions (e.g. Design Engineer Construct!)
