Networking and Security Specialist The Networking and Security Specialist will engage in Pre-sales tasks in order to support Derive and its Account Managers (AM) to effectively sell network infrastructure products and services including but not limited to core switching and routing, wireless infrastructure, datacenter networking products, and network related security solutions. Our offerings revolve around several core vendors including but not limited to Cisco, HPE and VMWare. In this critical role, the ideal individual will provide pre-sales technical support to our clients and selling staff in the development of complex solutions. As a Networking and Security Specialist, you will be responsible for managing pre-sales technical support to our sales teams and prospective clients, ensuring customer satisfaction. The preferred candidate will have career level experience with networking infrastructure technologies. This Networking and Security Specialist will proactively support an opportunity pipeline and help our selling teams drive the sales process to closure. Solution selling experience is a must, and incumbents need to understand the various ways a solution may be delivered and have the ability to anticipate what will work best for a given client. You will combine technical expertise and business acumen to demonstrate how Derive drives business value for their clients. Roles and Responsibilities: Work closely with sales teams and technical engineering specialists to present Derive’s offerings to prospects and clients. Present solutions around these core technologies within accounts at a strategic and technical level. Provide the optimum combination of hardware, software, and services to meet complex customer needs. Work with the Derive sales teams to develop responses to bids and requests for proposals, culminating in a presentation of the solution to the prospect. Deliver technical presentations to customers, partners, and potential prospects. Work with our sales teams to drive relationships with prospects and customers and identify additional opportunities; work with management to maintain and manage a sales pipeline and forecasts against stated goals. Possess competitive knowledge including solution, technology, and product offerings. Provide consultative support to key internal/external stakeholders on assigned opportunities. Use in-depth product knowledge to provide technical expertise to sales staff and our clients through sales presentations and product demonstrations. Prepare detailed product specifications for the development and implementation of customer solutions. Create detailed design and implementation specifications for complex products or solutions. Must be prepared to provide consultation to prospective clients in order for them to assess hte viability of our offerings. Obtain and Maintain knowledge and certifications to design networking solutions from appropriate Vendor Partners. Education and Experience Technical University or Bachelor's degree; advanced degree preferred Typically 3-5 years of experience in technical consultative selling and account management One or more industry certifications such as VMWare VCP, Cisco CCNA or CCNP, HPE ASE or CISSP. Experience in one of more of the following vertical markets is preferred: 1) Healthcare, 2) Financial Services or 3) Public Sector. Knowledge and Skills Required: Demonstrates expert level knowledge of Networking and Security Technologies. Leverages company solutions to support customer IT strategic directions, creating extensive customer business value Applies deep understanding of technical innovations & trends to solving customer business problems Establishes thought leadership in technical specialty area with customers Demonstrated ability to work as the lead for large complex projects. Has demonstrated extensive hands-on level skills with a broad range of the technologies outlined above. Utilize deep knowledge of customer value chain and business requirements to create and propose solutions. Understands business metrics and drivers for multiple levels of customer management and appropriately tailors communications to demonstrate value Demonstrates strong communications skills with customer management. Leverages deep understanding of the competition - both positioning strategy and technology - to create competitive advantage for the company Compensation Structure Compensation for this role will be based on a competitive fixed salary commensurate with experience PLUS incentive based variable compensation. Bonus and variable compensation will be predicated on meeting and exceeding objectives set forth by management.
