Contracts Manager - Structural Steel

An established and respected specialist in structural steelwork is looking for an experienced Contracts Manager to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled professional to take ownership of complex steelwork contracts from order to completion, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
Role Overview:
Manage allocated contracts from receipt of order through to the end of the defects liability period, ensuring high standards of safety, quality, and client satisfaction.
Act as the primary client interface, leading meetings, resolving issues, and maintaining strong relationships.
Develop contract programmes, construction plans, and health & safety documentation.
Oversee the design and drawing process, managing the information flow between clients and internal teams.
Coordinate subcontractors and internal resources, ensuring timely placement of orders and adherence to programme requirements.
Monitor on-site progress through regular site visits, addressing any issues to keep projects on track.
Manage financial aspects of contracts, including variations and commercial implications, to maximise profitability.
Ensure compliance with company procedures, safety legislation, and relevant industry standards throughout the contract lifecycle.
Requirements:
Minimum 5 years' experience in contracts management within the construction or structural steel industry.
Strong understanding of fabrication, erection, and site processes in structural steelwork.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to build productive relationships with clients, suppliers, and project teams.
Computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
Full UK driving licence, with flexibility to travel to sites across the UK as needed.
