Senior Specifications Technologist - Food Manufacturing

Diamond Search Recruitment are seeking an organised and proactive Senior Specifications Technologist to join our client, reporting to the Technical Services Manager. You will be responsible for managing and completing retailer, customer, and own brand product specifications to the highest standards, ensuring compliance with retailer codes of practice and supporting the administration of retailer systems.

Key Responsibilities:

* Prepare and complete finished product specifications for major retailers including Tesco, Sainsbury's, Co-op, Aldi, Morrisons, ASDA, Lidl, and others.

* Manage supplier specification approvals and onboarding processes.

* Administer retailer and artwork systems, coordinating internal communications.

* Review and approve product artwork in liaison with retailers and print houses.

* Support the NPD team with nutritional calculations and specification cross-checks.

* Maintain knowledge of retailer codes of practice and audit requirements.

* Lead training and development of junior specification administrators.

* Ensure on-time delivery of specifications with high accuracy (95%+).

Essential Skills & Experience:

* Experience working with retailer specification systems (minimum 3 major retailers).

* Strong knowledge of retailer codes of practice and packaging/legal labelling.

* Excellent communication skills with internal teams and external stakeholders.

* Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.

* Ability to work under pressure, manage deadlines, and take initiative.

Desirable:

* Experience in bakery or complex food products environment.

* Food science or related qualification.

* Knowledge of Brexit export regulations and sustainability standards.
