Job Title: Quantity Surveyor
Location: Woking, Surrey
Salary: £45,000 to £55,000 + car & package

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Quantity Surveyor to join a leading main contractor delivering a growing portfolio of projects within the water sector across Surrey and Berkshire. The Quantity Surveyor will be taking responsibility for their own projects whilst working closely with a small commercial team. The role promises exposure to a variety of projects including increasing capacity of sewage treatment works and storm tanks, the refurbishment of pumping stations and construction of new water storage sites including water reservoirs.

Key Responsibilities

Managing all commercial aspects of assigned projects from inception through to final account.
Preparation of cost estimates, budgets, and forecasts.
Subcontractor procurement, negotiation, and administration.
Accurate measurement, pricing, and agreement of variations.
Preparation and submission of interim valuations and applications for payment.
Regular cost reporting and monitoring of project financial performance.
Identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities.
Final account preparation and negotiation with both clients and subcontractors.
Ensuring compliance with contract conditions (familiarity with NEC contracts is advantageous).
Building and maintaining strong working relationships with the client and supply chain.
About You

Proven experience working as a Quantity Surveyor for a UK based main contractor or specialist subcontractor
Experience in civil engineering, utilities, or infrastructure projects. Specific experience in the water sector (clean or wastewater) would be a distinct advantage.
Strong understanding of construction processes and standard forms of contract (NEC preferred).
Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
Commercially astute with a keen eye for detail.
Crucially, you must be based within a reasonable commutable distance of Hampton, Basingstoke, and Guildford to effectively support projects across our operating region.
