Senior Windows Server SME
Our client, a leading global financial services organisation have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Windows Server SME to join them on an initial 6 month contract basis. This role is a great chance to join an organisation that can provide opportunities for years to come.
Role responsibilities:
- Responsible for providing escalation support for Windows BAU and front line teams
- Responsible for managing and approving related engineering change
- Responsible for Major Incident handling and problem management resolution for related services.
- Responsible for designing and implementing new Windows infrastructure and related services, adhering to required standards of systems documentation and handover.
- Responsible for ensuring the Windows Infrastructure is highly available, reliable and performant
- Responsible for ensuring sufficient capacity is available to accommodate expected BAU growth.
- Responsible for identification, design and engineering of proactive service improvements and process efficiency.
- Participate in team on-call rota. Some out of hours or weekend work will be required
Strong skills:
- Design and build of VMWare vSphere, vCentre, vRealize Operations (v5.5 and above)
- VMWare Horizon v7 & Nutanix VDI
- Dell/Wyse terminal management
Candidates should also have a strong technical background and skills in the follow subjects/areas:
- Windows Server 2008/2012/2016
- Active Directory 2008/2012 design and implementation
- Exchange 2010/2013/2016 design and implementation
- Lync/Skype for Business
- Powershell scripting
Experience or skills in the following technologies is desired:
- Azure Cloud IaaS & Office 365
- Microsoft Identity Manager (Galsync)
- Symantec Enterprise Vault
- Citrix Xenapp Design and administration
- Dell Hardware architecture and configuration management (Blade 10-13G, iDRAC, CMC, Networking)
- Symantec Management Platform (Altiris)
- Platform integration with EMC storage platforms (XtremeIO, VNX, Unity)
- Banking experience is preferred but not essential
