Role Overview
We are looking for a Lead Emissions CAE Engineer to join our virtual engineering team, working on advanced vehicle and powertrain programs. In this role, you will drive vehicle-level emissions simulation, focusing on predicting tailpipe emissions for gasoline and hybrid applications.
You will play a key role in aftertreatment system modelling, engine-out emissions prediction, and CAE-driven analysis, supporting technology decisions and future powertrain development.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and enhance methodologies for engine-out emissions prediction
- Build and refine exhaust and aftertreatment system models, including altitude and off-ambient condition impacts
- Perform 1D CAE simulations (GT-SUITE) for vehicle emissions and virtual test cases
- Support system sizing, technology selection, and calibration strategy development
- Analyze and troubleshoot emissions-related issues, providing data-driven solutions
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and validate simulation input data
- Generate steady-state and transient emissions correlations using test bench data
- Lead improvements in CAE tools, methods, and processes for current and next-gen (including hybrid) powertrain systems
Your Profile Must-Have Skills & Experience
- Strong expertise in aftertreatment modelling (simulation or calibration background)
- Solid understanding of engine-out emissions fundamentals and prediction techniques
- Hands-on experience in vehicle/powertrain emissions assessment and validation
- Proficiency in GT-SUITE (1D simulation)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in CAE environments
- Ability to understand and balance limitations vs strengths of simulation models
