Job OverviewMy client is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor with residential experience to join a dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing project costs, ensuring that financial resources are used efficiently and effectively throughout the project lifecycle within high-end residential new-build schemes based in/around Cambridge.
Quantity Surveyor- Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for projects, including materials, labour, and overheads.
- Monitor project expenditures and implement cost control measures to ensure budgets are adhered to.
- Conduct regular site visits to assess progress and identify any potential financial issues.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to gather necessary information for accurate cost assessments.
- Prepare tender documents and assist in the evaluation of bids from contractors.
- Provide advice on contractual claims and disputes as they arise during the project lifecycle.
- Maintain comprehensive records of all financial transactions related to projects.
- Assist in the preparation of reports for stakeholders on project financial performance.
Quantity Surveyor- Requirements
- 5+ Years of experience in residential. (Degree not required)
- Proven experience in quantity surveying or cost management within the construction sector.
- Strong knowledge of cost control techniques and financial management practices.
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Proficient in using quantity surveying software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
