CTRG: Mansfield Hub are working in partnership with a leading manufacturer based in Sutton-in-Ashfield to recruit for an experienced Plater / Welder Fabricator to join their team.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform plating and fabrication operations on heavy duty sheet metal, mild/stainless steel, aluminium, brass to a high standard, ensuring consistency and quality across all components
- Support customer delivery targets by maintaining timely completion of components
- Maintain excellent product quality throughout the fabrication process
- Read and interpret technical drawings to understand fabrication requirements
Assist with fabrication tasks including:
- MIG weld tacking, seam welding, and grinding (as needed)
- Rolling of flat bar and T bar
- Operating guillotine and auto-feed saw
- Using punch press and radial arm drill
- Work collaboratively and respectfully with colleagues
- Ensure full compliance with company policies and procedures
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in a plater/fabrication role within a manufacturing environment
- Team leadership and coordinating a team of platers and fabricators to drive productivity and KPIs
- Strong background in working with mild steel and stainless steel
- Ability to read and work from technical drawings
- Competence in operating metalworking machinery
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality assurance
The role will involve following technical drawings to fabricate.
Candidate Requirements
- Time-served plater / welder fabricagtor
- Confident working from technical drawings
- Able to take a product from start to finish
- Experience working on bespoke products
- Able to work unsupervised and using own initiative
Hours of Work
- Monday - Thursday 8am - 4.30pm
- Fridays 7.30am - 1.30pm.
- Regular overtime available.
Rate of Pay
£16.22 per hour, paid weekly in arrears.
