Day-to-Day Responsibilities of the Plumbing Lecturer role :
- Curriculum Delivery: Implement a variety of learning strategies to effectively deliver levels 1-3 curriculum, ensuring it meets the diverse needs of students and achieves intended learning outcomes.
- Curriculum Development: Participate in the development and updating of curriculum content to ensure relevance and alignment with current standards and industry practices.
- Student Assessment: Conduct fair and consistent assessments, provide timely feedback, and ensure alignment with the marking framework.
- Student Management and Welfare: Manage student conduct and attendance, provide guidance, and refer students to support services as needed.
- Tutorial Support: Offer tailored tutorial support to meet program and individual student needs.
- Staff Development and Appraisal: Engage in professional development activities as required and participate in the appraisal scheme.
- Management and Administration: Perform administrative duties such as maintaining records, providing statistical information, and participating in committees.
- Liaison and Marketing: Collaborate with internal and external bodies and assist in the marketing and presentation of programs.
- Quality and Student Evaluation: Contribute to quality improvement plans and participate in evaluations to enhance teaching and learning experiences.
- Research and Consultancy: Engage in research and consultancy work relevant to maintaining and enhancing course quality.
Required Skills & Qualifications for the Plumbing Lecturer role:
- Qualifications:
- Degree or relevant professional qualification in Plumbing at level 3 or above.
- Willingness to work towards a recognised L4 teaching qualification (desirable).
- Experience:
- Significant industry experience with a background in teaching or training.
- Proven ability to deliver a current curriculum and participate in curriculum planning and moderation.
- Skills & Attributes:
- Excellent interpersonal, organisational, and IT skills.
- Strong knowledge of student wellbeing and the ability to communicate effectively.
