Established engineering and manufacturing business with a strong reputation for precision, quality, and craftsmanship. Due to continued growth, we are seeking an Experienced Toolmaker to join our skilled team. This role offers the opportunity to work across a range of tooling disciplines, supporting production, maintenance, and new tooling projects.

As an Experienced Toolmaker, you will be responsible for:

• Manufacturing, assembling, and maintaining press tools, jigs, fixtures, and bespoke tooling
• Producing high‑tolerance components using manual milling, turning, grinding, and bench fitting
• Investigating faults, carrying out repairs, and performing tool modifications
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings accurately
• Supporting tool trials, ensuring tooling runs efficiently and meets production standards
• Working closely with the production and design teams on improvements and optimisation
• Ensuring all work is completed safely, on time, and to strict quality requirements

To succeed in this role, you should have:

✔ A strong background in toolmaking within a manufacturing or engineering environment
✔ Proficiency in manual machining (milling, turning, surface grinding, bench fitting)
✔ Experience building and maintaining press tools, progression tools, or similar precision tooling
✔ Ability to diagnose tooling issues and deliver effective solutions
✔ Excellent understanding of engineering drawings and tolerances
✔ Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail
✔ Ability to work independently and as part of a team
✔ (Desirable) Experience with CAD/CAM systems and CNC machining
