Procurement Officer Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30–4:30 or 9:00–5:00 (may vary)

IntroductionThe Supply Register is proud to partner with St Teresa of Calcutta Catholic Academy Trust as a managed service provider. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Procurement Officer to join the Trust’s central team.In this role, you will support the Procurement Manager in delivering efficient, transparent, and cost-effective procurement services across multiple schools—ensuring compliance, value for money, and strong supplier relationships.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement & Sourcing

  • Support the Procurement Manager in implementing procurement strategies and maintaining procurement plans.

  • Use e-tendering systems and digital platforms to streamline processes and ensure transparency.

  • Research markets, identify potential suppliers, and assess service quality.

Supplier & Contract Management

  • Assist in preparing and managing supplier contracts, ensuring legal and regulatory compliance.

  • Monitor supplier performance and address issues promptly.

  • Support risk identification and mitigation strategies.

Purchase & Cost Management

  • Process purchase orders when required, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

  • Maintain procurement records, pricing databases, and supplier details.

  • Conduct cost analysis and produce regular procurement activity reports.

Compliance & Best Practice

  • Ensure adherence to Trust procurement policies, legislation, and audit requirements.

  • Promote sustainable and ethical procurement practices.

  • Provide guidance and training on procurement procedures to staff.

Collaboration & Development

  • Work closely with school leaders and staff to meet procurement needs.

  • Contribute to process improvements and system updates.

  • Maintain professional knowledge through CPD and training opportunities.

RequirementsEssential:

  • Degree in finance, business, or a related field.

  • Procurement or purchasing qualification (e.g., CIPS).

  • Strong negotiation, communication, and organisational skills.

  • High attention to detail and the ability to work under deadlines.

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain).

Desirable:

  • Experience in education or public sector procurement.

  • Familiarity with JCQ or other sector-specific compliance requirements.
