We now need a Technical Consultant to support the transformation and the future growth of the business within the Distribution Sales function.

Job summary:

To work proactively with members of Individual Distribution in the delivery of the wealth division business objectives in covering pensions, tax and estate planning resulting in a growing share of advisers’ business.

What you’ll do:

•To provide technical support and knowledge through communications, training, development and coaching to key advisers and the other members of the Technical Services Team, Sales Managers, Account Managers on pensions, tax and estate planning so that the sales targets are achieved or exceeded and non-producing advisers/adviser firms are converted. To support proactive promotion of new product launches, corporate or regional events, activities and campaigns.

•To provide case specific technical expertise for the key advisers, in their chosen format (e-mail, telephone, webinar, face-to-face), to include moderating their reports (as appropriate), in order to maximise the sales opportunity for the adviser and Canada Life. To design and deliver tailored seminars/workshops for advisers and, where appropriate, to their professional connections, to optimise sales and achieve the business’ goals.

•Assess new legislation for the impact and opportunities they may bring, providing recommendations and working with Propositions and Marketing colleagues to implement ideas.

•To work proactively with Distribution’s management team, to develop and deliver the technical requirements of the sales strategies that reflect market opportunities in order to generate continuous growth in sales and to achieve the company’s wealth business goals and targets. Utilise specialist technical knowledge to contribute ideas to business strategy where relevant.

•To create and maintain good working relationships with the Technical Services Team, Sales Managers, Account Managers, Corporate Technical Unit, Propositions and Marketing, Legal and Compliance in order to continually enhance the Canada Life offering to the key adviser accounts, and to share expertise, help deepen relationships and win new business.

•To work with the Distribution teams to develop and build business relationships with leaders of key advisers and influencers to enhance the Canada Life value proposition and thereby increase business opportunities and achieve given sales targets.

•To report, on a regular basis, activity and results in line with key personal objectives as agreed with the line manager

Who you are:

•Excellent communication skills

•Self-motivated, engaging, good with people, with a keen eye for detail

•Demonstrates the ability to communicate complex technical information in a client centric environment

•Act as a specialist to encourage open and constructive relationships and help others develop skills to be effective in this area of specialism. Demonstrates the ability to coach

•Ability to write clear technically accurate reports/articles using legal terminology and legislative reference (UK legislation)

•Oversee articles/reports/presentations drafted by other authors

•Ability to undertake/deliver seminars/workshops for advisers and their professional connections

•Able to demonstrate in-depth understanding of the wealth division business products and provide training in support of these

•Explain complex concepts or technical information to others in an easily understandable way

•Lead by example to encourage a culture of service excellence and continuous improvement in processes and business results

•Support projects and marketing initiatives and identify and manage risks

•Act as ‘eyes and ears’ in the market, utilise own specialist knowledge and that of team to influence key marketing decision makers

•Support proactive promotion of new product launches, corporate or regional events, activities and campaigns

•A very good knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (especially PowerPoint).
